Lake George Antique Boat Museum's purpose is to preserve, interpret, teach and interactively exhibit the history of life on Lake George through the vessels used there.
Our focus is to share with future generations the significant impact  Lake George had on the economic, social and cultural heritage of the Adirondack region and the nation.

To achieve this mission  we have developed a short 5 minute video consisting of early photographs of the Lake George Region with a narrator explaining the history and goals of our museum. We have setup a data base and have acquired numerous black and white photographs which we hope to make available for educational and research purposes.

The board of director's understand the importance and great possibilities of the internet  as a teaching tool. We look forward to providing the opportunity for students, classrooms and educators  to visit our museum electronically , accessing our data base and through secure online chat rooms interactively discuss pertinent issues with local historians and experts.

We are currently developing  lesson plans and interactive pages that will both  inform and entertain students of all ages. For example the (Erie Canal Page ) or type out your messages with  (Nautical Flags). Discover for example how some boats were launched at Lake George in the early 1930's

We welcome the support of individuals, educators, and benefactor's to help us achieve our goal and continue  to preserve our rich history for future generations.
