Dear Friends,
We of the Lake George Antique Boat Museum welcome you to our website! Perhaps you can recall a trip through this beautiful region of our great country. Or perhaps you have never driven the back roads of the Adirondack Mountains or felt the rush of Lake George waters beneath the keel of a wooden boat. But we know that when you learn more about our Museum and its aspirations for the future, you will come to share with us a love for "the Queen of American Lakes" and an interest in her history.
In 1999, our organization established its first administrative headquarters at 19 Sagamore Road in Bolton Landing, New York. From here, we are compiling a registry of boats, autos and horse-drawn carriages manufactured or used in the Adirondack region while also conducting a search for a permanent facility to house our future collections.
The Museum invites you to continue following our progress by visiting the website. Through the site, you can learn about Museum events, become a member (and receive our quarterly newsletter, Keels and Wheels), order from our store, or discover how you can play a role in bringing the Museum's goals to reality.
The Lake George Antique Boat Museum offers a unique opportunity to insure that future generations will come to appreciate the way of life it seeks to preserve. Help us act now because if nothing is done, all that will remain are faded memories and wrinkled photographs!
Best wishes,
Henry
Heller Smith, Chairman
